Ken Hubert


Ken Hubert has been practising law since 1982. Ken primarily practises in the contentious areas of Civil Law, Family Law and Criminal Law. He has served in the past on the Law Society and Law Council Access to Justice Committees. Ken has practised in most legal tribunals and has been a representative for children in care and residence matters in the Family Court and Children’s Court for a number of years.

Ken is an accredited Family Dispute Resolution provider and mediator. He is conscious of the need for the most appropriate means of dispute resolution for your matter.

Ken is known for not shying away from a challenge and as such has managed and been successful in many difficult cases.

Rhonda Hubert

Finance Director

Rhonda Hubert commenced full time employment with Capon & Hubert in 2008 as our Finance Director. Prior to this time she maintained a supervisory role over accounts staff for a number of years.

As a self employed book-keeper Rhonda brings extensive knowledge and accounting experience to the firm.

As a Director of our firm Rhonda is highly regarded and a valued member of the team.

Ashilpa Khanna


Ashilpa is our Wills and Estate planning lawyer. Ashilpa was admitted to practice in June 2015 and has been in the legal industry since 2013. 0riginally from Fiji Islands, Ashilpa joined Capon & Hubert in early August 2017.

Ashilpa has a passion for law and is dedicated to making the legal process simpler and easier to understand for her clients. She also has experience in the areas of civil & commercial debt recovery litigation and migration.

Ashilpa will be pleased to assist you with any wills and estate planning queries. In addition Ashilpa will also gladly assist with probates or letters of administration.

Johan Engelbrecht


Johan is the head of our Conveyancing Division and has been practising law since 1991. He is originally from South Africa where he practised as a Lawyer, Notary Public and Conveyancer. Johan was admitted as an Australian lawyer in the NSW High Court on 26 August 2011 and joined Capon & Hubert during September 2017.

Johan’s passion is Real Estate and has also been actively involved in owning and selling Real Estate both in South Africa and Australia.

Johan will be pleased to assist you with any property transaction, whether commercial or residential and whether you are the seller or buyer.

Catherine Brill

Senior Secretary/Paralegal

Catherine commenced employment with Capon & Hubert in December 2007 as Senior Secretary to Ken Hubert. Catherine is a valued member of the Capon & Hubert team and always has a friendly, professional and efficient manner. She is an asset to our team and well regarded by both staff and clients.

Catherine has a strong knowledge of Ken’s practice areas and extensive experience as a Personal Assistant.

Catherine’s role covers:

  • Drafting correspondence
  • Preparation of adoption documentation
  • Liaising with clients, other solicitors and legal staff, Court staff, Barristers and other parties

Ami Woods commenced employment with Capon & Hubert in September 2011 as a Conveyancing Clerk. She works directly with our senior lawyers.
